So I had this position to go to today, and had everything already to go- simple job, simple direction- cleaning up some files and systems for a lady who wanted a cleaned up faster more effecent system- paying $15 an hour to do this sort of thing is much happiness on my part. Says the job will take the rest of the week.

It's a late starting job- not until 9:30, so I have time to do some banking first and get some food in me, all in all fairly easy breezy morning.

BUT NO!

The instructions I had recieved to travel from the T stop to the building were the driveing, NOT walking directions. In short, it got ugly fast. SO, calling up my case manager frantically, I end up NOT walking the .7 miles I thought it would be, but RUNNING the 3.2 miles it was on foot. It was full of the suck- as the day was very warm and I was wearing thick Jeans, under shirt, dress shirt, and dress shoes. Slick soled dress shoes, I might add.

Anyway, I get there, and it turns out to be this infinatly complex project that really... okay, It's a series of repetative steps to go through 30,000 art files that have no nameing scheme, and find the 37 that the lady needs. THEN, there is a whole series of STUFF that has to be done with it. Tedious and time consomeing, and on a MAC. Well, I found some short cuts and some cheats and finished the project before the day was done (stayed late to do so).

Call PSG (my work) and they're like "Oh! shit dude! We totally have nothing for you tomorow and th bored is all full up... um... you have the day off." That's nice, but I kinda need... you know... money.

WELL, she calls back 15 minutes later and says
"Luke... I talked it over with Sarah and Dan and Crise, and we all know you work REALLY really hard for us and we always hear the best thingsd EVER about you... so we bumped someone off of GWP. Did you want to come in tomorow?"

And thus, I have work tomorow. YAY.

Though I was going to use the day off to go see JnS. Some other time. ::nod::

20 minutes later
